ROLE SUMMARY

Dream of leading projects in the sun-drenched elegance of the South of France, and the breathtaking beauty of the French Alps? We’re seeking a French-speaking Senior Project Manager to spearhead our exciting development ventures across these iconic French territories.

To excel in this role, you must be fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written), be an experienced project manager, and ideally possess a minimum of five years’ experience renovating luxury homes. We need a dedicated professional who is passionate about delivering projects to exacting standards and can maintain high performance in an exciting, fast-paced setting.

The primary remit for this role will be the project management of a number of renovation and design projects. You will be responsible for delivering beautiful homes for our customers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Delivery

  • Be responsible for the delivery of fully operational luxury homes from start to completion, on programme, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Take the project forward to the start of the renovation works, ensuring the contract, insurances, and correct permits are in place, and all risks have been mitigated.
  • Manage the contractor and sub-contractors throughout the works, ensuring the design is implemented to a high standard within programme and on budget, with no issues taken forward to the operations team and homeowners.
  • Define and manage project plans for August and stakeholders to deliver on the pipeline of real estate projects.
  • Own timelines and budgets to launch projects faster and reduce cash burn.

2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with the acquisition and design teams to review potential homes, evaluate permit risks and requirements, create the initial schedule of work, and define the renovation budget necessary for each new home prior to acquisition.
  • Work closely with the design team to create full tender packages, manage the tender process, undertake the tender analysis, and give recommendations on the contractor to progress with.
  • Manage external stakeholders including developers, general contractors, and designers to advocate for August’s interests at all phases of the development process, from due diligence to closeout.
  • Assist in creating, deploying, and leveraging August’s Standards and Specifications.
  • Tirelessly problem-solve issues while consistently working to improve processes to minimise and prevent exceptions in order to scale rapidly.

3. Contract & Compliance Management

  • Manage subcontractors and service providers to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Collaborate on generating project schedules and consistently follow up on adherence. Manage updates and develop solutions to issues while effectively communicating consequences.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Based in the South of France with easy access to areas surrounding Cannes and Nice
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in construction or a related field preferred.
  • Passion and experience for luxury home renovations.
  • Experience in all phases of development, from design and planning to construction project management and administration.
  • Experience in producing tender packages, from design and planning to construction project management and administration.
  • Strong understanding of renovation costs and planning of residential projects.
  • Significant experience negotiating with and managing external vendors and contractors on time, cost, and quality.
  • The ability to independently plan and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years of experience in residential development, ideally across Europe.
  • Speaking English and French is mandatory.

Desirable

  • Bonus if fluent in Spanish or Italian.
  • RICS, PMMA, PG DIP, or PRINCE2 equivalent qualification in project management.
  • Passionate about design, brand image, furniture, and interior styling.
  • Comfortable with regular travel throughout France with regular trips to the London office.

Other Attributes

  • Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit — an “all hands on deck” approach.
  • Process-driven — able to deliver immediate results while developing systems for future growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and a professional manner.
  • Flexible, can-do attitude.

BENEFITS OF WORKING AT AUGUST

  • Competitive compensation: salary plus an incentive package, including bonus.
  • Work location: South of France, with frequent travel across France to manage installations and to the London Head Office.
  • Career growth: opportunities to develop within a high-growth company and gain exposure across multiple markets.
  • Work environment: hybrid working options, an entrepreneurial and fast-paced culture, and a strong team-driven approach.
  • Lifestyle & perks: training, social events, and company trips to enhance skills and team bonding.
